He is silent. He never stares at the ground but yet I feel that there’s a battle going on inside him. He would like to share his story but he is aware that he has nothing to say that would be different from the stories of all the others who left their country. He arrived in Belgium almost 2 years ago full of hope at the promise to live his dream: to be paid to see the world. It didn’t turn out the way he wanted it: his master degree provided him with a job in an industrial cleaning enterprise. But he doesn’t cross his arms on his new life. He looks at me and I am stunned. His eyes are the shelter of his great patience, hope and trust. Perseverance also. “Life is generous, you just need to seize the chance.
